Remy Sylado

Award winning author Yapi Tambayong, better known under his penname Remy Sylado, started his writing career at the young age of 16. Born in Makassar on the island of Sulawesi , he grew up in central Java, the lap of Indonesian culture.
His versatile artistic ambition has produced poetry, short story collections, novels and essays as well as plays and music.

Sylado is known for his avant-garde style and subject matter. Asked what motivates his choice of topic, Sylado stated that he likes to tackle the uncommon and enjoys addressing topics others hesitate to engage in.

Namaku Mata Hari (PT. Gramedia Pustaka Utama – October 2010 – ISBN: 978-979-22-6281-0) is certainly a  testament to this statement.
